Doctor Away! How does this famous adage
apply to cleaning the body and intestinal regulation? Besides the health properties of organic apples which include lowering cholesterol,
reducing wrinkles and promoting hair growth, apples contain pectin which works two ways-
either to promote elimination or to assist in stopping of diarrhea.
A
toxic colon affects the entire body- When the bowel is dirty, the blood is dirty and
so are the organs and tissues
. Dr.
Bernard Jensen. My natural health class taught that toxins in the colon would the cause the
liver to become toxic. The liver, the largest
organ in the body, is responsible for producing proteins and immune system factors,
controlling blood sugar, and many other functions but especially filtering the blood, detoxifying poisons and
eliminating bacteria. Does it make sense that if we maintain our internal
housecleaning the entire body will benefit?
There are a variety of
products on the market for supporting and cleaning the digestive system. We will begin with using fiber to sweep out the
leftovers from breakfast, lunch and dinner. Elimination
should be occurring at least once a day. It
is not healthy to eliminate on a weekly(or longer) basis.
Imagine putting your garbage outside in 98.6 temperature- how long before it
would begin to putrefy? This is happening
inside the body when elimination is not taking place regularly.
Diets should primarily consist of raw fruits and vegetables and small amounts of cooked or processed foods for greater fiber intake. Supplement fiber intake with additional fiber products. Our family uses a gentle acting fiber product from Healthy Habits called Colon Toddy. It can be mixed with water or juice for a pleasant tasting addition to your fiber diet.
Besides fiber, Colon Toddy also contains Bentonite Clay. Clay has been used for centuries by people as
well as animals for dietary health reasons. Clay
assists in eliminating constipation and just like apples can prevent diarrhea as well. During war times French soldiers ate clay to combat
dysentery and during the Balkan War of 1910, the incidence of cholera, a severe intestinal
ailment, among the soldiers was reduced from 60% to 3% with the use of clay.

Before 7000 BC prehistoric man
led a nomadic existence eating roots, grains and fruits which was a high fiber diet. As
mankind became stationary and civilized, less fiber was eaten. Obviously this led to problems even for ancient man
because historically people have been using laxative for centuries.
According
to The Best Kept Secret by Jennifer Weiss and Vena Burnett,
Castor Oil was found to
be used 6000 years ago by the Egyptians. By
1500 BC the Assyrians had extensive
knowledge of laxatives and used bulk forming products.
The Western Diet used by
modern people has little or no fiber, fresh fruits or vegetables. Because of this fact the
colon walls becomes coated, nutrients are not readily absorbed thus contributing to all manners of digestive
problems and diseases.
Using products like the Colon Toddy as well as changing one's diet are methods of changing the intestinal terrain for better health.
This newsletter will discuss
two methods of radical colon cleansing. One is
the use of colonics. Colonics are intense
water enemas performed by colonic experts. 10 treatments are generally recommended for a
thorough cleaning to take place. It is
estimated that anywhere from 5 to 25 pounds of fecal matter is stored in the colon.
If you are adverse to doing
colonics, you can do your own at home cleansing program.
There are a variety of colon programs found on the internet. Personally I have tested one that used a powdered
form of clay. I
prefer using a liquid form of clay found at the health food stores. Montmorillonite Clay and Bentonite Clay are both
used for clay cleanses.
This is a cleanse that I have
personally done(while continuing to work) and am sharing by request for informational
reasons. Always consult your doctor before
starting a diet, fast or cleanse.

The Five Day Clay
Cleanse
This is an intense cleansing
program which can be a challenge if you are working but it
is possible to do if your situation allows. The main thing is to take the clay
several times daily.There are slower methods of attaining the results of this
cleanse, using the products over longer periods of time.
This will depend on lifestyle and health considerations.
People with serious colon
issues, sugar problems and any health problems must always consult a physician before
starting a program of this nature.
First find an herbal laxative
product that is compatible with your system and experiment till you get 3 movements/day. This will be the approximate amount of herbal
remedy you will use throughout the cleanse. This
is important because use of clay causes bulking in the intestines and eventually pulls
materials off the sides of the colon and it is important to flush the clay and
leftovers daily out of the
system. We have used the Shaklee HerbLax for
many years and have found it to be very beneficial for our family and clients. If you would like to use this product we can send

The
Expect to use juices and
vegetable broths through this week of cleansing. Avoid
solid foods and especially dairy, meat products, starches and processed foods. We
particularly like the Lemonade Drink from

Food Store (5 tablespoons daily for radical cleanse)
Ginger Root, Papaya,
Peppermint or Fennel capsules
Charcoal is also effective for
gas and toxin removal
Herbal Laxative, Fiber
Products, Parasite Products
Chewable Multiple Vitamins,
including Vitamin C, Calcium/Magnesium, BComplex
Juices, Vegetable Broths, Use
pure water for all drinks, soups, etc.
Procedure for 5 days
Take Clay 5 times daily( doses
spaced from AM to PM) with herbal capsules. Drink
water, organic juices, herb teas and organic broths as desired. Take supplements
throughout the day.
When coming off the cleanse be
careful to eat vegetables, fruits, soups and be kind to the digestive system. If you begin by eating heavy meats, dairy and
starches the system will balk and you will be mighty uncomfortable! Take it slow.
Rebuild your intestinal flora
with probiotics and add Slippery Elm and enzymes when eating for maximum digestion and
toning every day. We are now using the new
Native Flora and Native Enzymes(which contain essential oils for maximum absorption) from
Native American Nutritionals. Also continue
using natural food supplements on a daily basis. We
use our Native American Defense product which assists with the immune system and
supplements are necessary to provide nourishment for cell building. Within 20 hours of
taking Defense the immune system is 20 to 40 times increased.
Vegetable Broths
We use McKays meat
flavored-vegetarian seasoning with our broths for taste and potatoes, carrots,
celery, spinach, parsley, cabbage or other vegetables such as beets. You can also add barley for added flavor and
benefits. (Barley is not for gluten intolerant
individuals.)
